Addition Building Campaign Building for the Future
Celebrating 37 years of serving area members and residents, the Museum’s Board determined the need for and developed a plan to construct an addition just off the back door to accommodate a new handicapped accessible bathroom, galley kitchen and some storage space.
The plans were prepared by Kemper Associates Architects in Farmington and were approved by the Unionville Historic District.
The Museum raised over $50,000 for the addition and celebrated its completion with a ribbon cutting in September of 2002. The Board thanks the hundreds of individual donors who contributed. We are grateful for overwhelming support we received from our members and friends of the Museum. We would also like to thank Ion Bank, the Farmington Community Chest, the Unionville Lions Club, and the Rotary Club for their generous contributions. And the McPhee Foundation for a grant that helped us complete the kitchenette. We exceeded our initial goal, but the need is greater than we anticipated given the unexpected increase in construction costs due to the pandemic. If you would like to make a financial contribution to the Building Campaign, you can do that here, through the website, or by mailing a check to the Museum. All donations are greatly appreciated.
