Current Exhibit!

"Local Artisans"

This exhibit features local residents who make skilled traditional crafts such as jewelry, stained glass, clothing, hooked rugs, wood crafts, sihouettes, knitting and quilting.

The featured artist's are:

Betty Kelly, Edith McClure, Joe Klish, Peg Yung, Myda Swets, Marie Noble, JoAnne St. James, Eadie Hemingway, Consetta DeParolis, Phyllis Nedorostek, Carol McCusker Langlais, Larry Schlegel, Louise Blean, Emily LeBouthillier, Barbara Crockett Dexter,
Norma Francini and Edward Mack.

The exhibit will open February 7, 2010 and runs through to April 25, 2010.

Admission is free.

Announcing!

"Barns"

The Farmington Historic Society and the Unionville Museum are co-sponsoring a lecture on our local barns. The guest speaker is Todd Levine an architectural historian currently Director of the Connecticut Trust's "Historic Barns of Connecticut" Program. The lecture will include history of Connecticut barns, the state survey underway, grants available and information on moving a barn or reusing materials. Weather permitting there will be a tour of a nearby barn. This event will include material from the Unionville Museum's 2004 "FARMINGTON'S BARNS" exhibit.

Sunday, March 14 2-4PM (Snow date: Sun. March 21)

Next Exhibit

"The 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts"

This exhibit will explore the history of the Boy Scouts as well as Boy Scouting today.

The exhibit is scheduled to open May 2010.
